I was surprised to learn that 10% of all immigrants to North America live in and around Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They speak 140 languages. We are growing - and it's so fun. Since late 2020, two more young people interested in missions heard about us and have come. In March, by special request, we had an anniversary celebration of the 2010 dedication of the Kimyal New Testament. Dave and Ruth Hawkinson joined us. They are the brave and excellent helpers who made sure that I made it to Papua in one piece for the 2010 occasion. They were plied with questions, we had snacks (including sweet potato - the Kimyal's foundational food), made plans to celebrate again next year, and prayed for each other's journey in serving the Lord.

When I posted on Facebook the Kimyal NT anniversary celebration photo, Kimyals friends who know a bit (or a lot) of English were among those who commented. These Kimyal young people often comment on my Facebook posts. They also use Messenger for frequent live video chats, and love to hear me use Kimyal. It thrills me to learn about their ministries and see their babies. But it grieves me to hear of the racial & religious persecution they undergo. I so admire the courage and trust in the Lord that they maintain. What an example they are.

Unexpectedly, without any promotion, YouTube views of the video, "Bad Legs - Elinor, a Missionary Story" exploded lately. Why? Filmer/Producer Dianne and I don't know. But it has brought some wonderful new friends into my life. People for whom it just "popped up." They watched it and web-searched to find a way to contact me. It has also meant hours of responding to comments on the YouTube site. There are a lot of broken people out there who need to hear that God will embrace them if they turn to Him.

I have had monthly (at least) phone or voice conversations with three international workers for a long time. They bounce things off me knowing that I understand and maybe had similar experiences during my years in Indonesia. But I don't know who encourages who more - those talks always leave me pumped up. And now, thanks to the "Bad Legs" video explosion, there are two more in this mutual encouragement circle. I love it!

Finally facing the truth that there is no way I can physically handle what a traditional publisher would require in the way of cross-country book promotion tours, all-day book signings etc., I have decided to find a small hybrid press to publish my book. FLASH! As of June 9, I have an informal agreement with a Christian hybrid publisher whose aim for the book's ministry match mine. What could be better. Next letter I'll report progress towards the printing of copies.

Sprinkled throughout this letter are things I would appreciate prayer for. Whatever stands out to you, that's yours to pray about.

Lately I noticed that when King Solomon dedicated the Temple, his prayer contained the principle of the Great Commission. That is, that God wants all nations to know Him. Solomon prayed, "when a foreigner... comes from a far country ... and prays toward this house, hear from heaven ... and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to you, in order that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your people Israel..." ( 2 Samuel 6:32-33)
